Hey you . . .

How weird is it to have someone walk up to you and greets you by your name and when it is your turn to greet you do not know his/her name and all you say is “Hey you”. Have you experienced that? You probably have, I know I have plenty of times before.
Ok, so there you are, wondering who or where you may have met this person and then he/she says “Do you not remember me?.” At that moment I think to myself “Am I supposed to?.” I mean I see over 200 people a day, meet 2 to 3 individuals weekly (excluding when you at a bar and everyone is tipsy). You then apologize, ask the stranger his/her name (to see if it may ring a bell), where and when you may have met and so on.
“Hey you” is a phrase I have used before as a joke, lol, and this is how. While at a busy mall with a friend, she saw a guy she knows from college, she told me what his name is and with a straight face I walked over to him and said “Hey Julian”. There was a moment of silence, knowing that we both have never met before, he responds by saying “Hey you”. Classic!!!
